Character Italics
Points to Know When Using Character Italic Books:
- Character Italics are designed to begin with GDI Book 'C', however some who finish Book B may be ready to start Level 1 earlier.
- Overlap between levels may occur as every student has varying needs.
- You can begin at any time.
- Character Italics are extra practice copywork books and are not designed to take the place of the GDI Series.
- Many parents have found the value of copywork is sufficient reason alone to work through the Character Italic books, even when using a different handwriting style.
- Learning a different handwriting method previously does not confuse the child, but rather enhances the enjoyment of how quickly a beautiful style can be learned.
- It's never too late to learn good handwriting skills. Adults begin with book 'G.'
A general guideline is:
GDI 'C' = Character Italic Level I
GDI 'D' = Character Italic Level II
GDI 'E' = Character Italic Level III
GDI 'F' and 'G' = Character Italic Level IV
